New Years Eve Party

 

If your bored New Years eve Downtown Allentown will be hosting a drone show at midnight.  

The drones will be much quieter than fireworks so you will be able to hear gunshots in the background as well. 

Make sure you're under cover because a little know fact.  Bullets that are shot in the air do come back down. 

According to Lehigh Valley News in accordance with the drone show:

"Downtown Allentown continues to thrive because of the partnerships and people who believe in it,” said Jessica O’Donnell-Gower, executive vice president of the Chambers of Commerce at the GLVCC.

“This event embodies the excitement and momentum we’re seeing across Downtown Allentown: a community that continues to grow, innovate, and come together in meaningful ways.”

Downtown Allentown continues to thrive? Where is the thriving going on?  Its a ghost town after 6pm. 

Who believes in Downtown?  I don't.  I still dont feel safe. I rarely see cops anymore either.

What excitement and momentum is going on in downtown? There is absolutely nothing exciting on Hamilton St. Sometimes you see some kids doing wheelies down the middle of the street. Or a dork wearing a suit riding a bike. Or seeing Sherry Lewis directing traffic is a treat.

Who are the people continuing to grow, innovate, and come together?  This is Allentown not Google. No one is doing any of that.

I am not sure who is footing this drone bill? Either Allentown or the Chamber of Commerce.  

I'm sure Mayor Tuerk will offer to pay.  He doesnt care about spending Money that isnt is.

No one is coming center city to eat on New years.  Who can afford it.

1 in 8 Americans receives SNAP benefits and cant even afford to eat without.  Allentown residents are getting hit with a 4% tax increase and a huge trash increase.  Renters will feel it too once their rent goes up.  And it will.   Allentown simply doesn't care about its residents. 

Budget meeting is coming up.  Also I cant wait to see the positions and pay increase DD Tuerk proposes for next year.  DD mean dumb dumb.  

Back to downtown.   You wont be seeing me there.  I dont want to be there when 100 drones malfunction and fall from the sky and their be a mass panic.  Be safe. Im sure Bethlehem's fireworks will be awesome.
